AI Tinkerers Vertical Agents Hackathon - with Google Cloud @ Weights & Biases
Join Us for an Exciting Weekend of Innovation!
Announcing the AI Tinkerers Vertical Agents Hackathon, sponsored by Google Cloud and hosted by Weights & Biases in collaboration with Copilot Kit and community sponsors with founders and experts on hand including E2B, HumanLayer, Daily.co, Payman and Browserbase.
This hackathon invites you to build cutting-edge vertical agen and humans-in-the-loop AI agents systems. Earn bragging rights and fabulous prizes! 🤖 🔄 🙆
As much of the industry is realizing; getting AI agents from cool demos to useful tools requires new architecture for human 🤝 agent collaboration.
Imagine applications where AI agents do 70%, 80%, even 90% of the work, yet a human is easily able to correct parts of the agent output and the agent adjusts accordingly.
Join the builders of the most cutting edge human-in-the-loop frameworks in the ecosystem to build projects that illuminate and guide the future of human-agent systems. Build demos that highlight the power of what human-in-loop AI systems can achieve.

🤖🔁👤 Theme: Vertical Agents
The hackathon focuses on the exciting theme of “humans-in-the-loop agents,” driven by Copilot Kit’s expertise in this area. We’re exploring how AI can work collaboratively with humans to solve complex problems. Copilot Kit will be showcasing their Coagents framework, which enables:
- End-users to correct agent steps in-app
- Streaming of intermediate agent states
- Exposing LangGraph agents as specialized skills for an app’s copilot
🛠️ Hackathon Platform
Participants will leverage Google Cloud’s Vertex AI & AI Studio for their projects, and will receive credits and support prior to the event. Build and collaborate with experts and founders from the community sponsors who will be on hand to support you to build and deploy state-of-the-art Agent systems easily.
🎪 Host Sponsor
Weights & Biases - This event is sponsored by Weights & Biases Weave. When you’re ready to take your tinkering to production, you’ll need reliable logging and tracing, Weave will get you there with 3 lines of code, and you’ll get a beautiful dashboard you can share with even the non technical folks! Plus, once you’re ready to upgrade to o1 or gpt-next, Weave offers a robust LLM evaluation pipeline so you’ll always know which LLM works best for your use-case.
🏋️ Judging Criteria
This is the judging criteria we’ll use to evaluate projects:
Criteria | Description | Score Definitions |
---|---|---|
Running Code | All teams must produce real working code and prototypes, not mockups and concept pitch decks. | 1: Doesn’t run at all 2: Major issues 4: Minor bugs 5: Flawless execution |
Innovation & Creativity | We strive for true innovation and groundbreaking ideas that push the boundaries of the field. | 1: Unoriginal ideas 2: Previously attempted ideas 4: Novel concept or creative solution 5: Groundbreaking idea and implementation |
Real-world Impact | We value work that is ambitious and has the potential to make a significant dent in the world. | 1: Limited real-world use 2: Future potential but not current impact 4: Solves a significant need 5: Life-changing potential |
Theme Alignment | How well the project aligns with and exemplifies the hackathon’s specific theme. | 1: Barely relates to the theme 2: Superficial connection 4: Clear incorporation of the theme 5: Perfectly embodies and elevates the theme |
Participants are expected to use Vertex AI as a component in their projects, for example, for their LLM inference. Google Cloud will provide credits to all participants prior to the event to support Vertex AI usage.
