Kareem A. is an early-career participant in the CTI Accelerate Program at Computing Talent Initiative, located in the San Francisco Bay Area. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from San Francisco State University and has gained valuable experience through various tech programs, including Mission Bit and the AI-STAARS Scholarship. Kareem is passionate about programming, with skills in Python and Java, and has developed projects such as a Naive Bayes text classifier and a 3D Tron Game using Three.js. Currently, he is also working on a chrome extension that negotiates prices in the second-hand market.

Last week at a hackathon, my teammate and I built an AI presenter that makes a slide deck for you using a prompt and presents it while also being able to answer questions, and revisit previous slides.

I studied Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace and did research in machine learning.

I am looking to learn more about generative AI and foundation models for a variety of tasks such as object detection. If I have a chance, I would like to learn engineering techniques for manipulating or generating embedding for either contrastive learning or few shot learning. Furthermore, I also would like to learn about how RAG is being used in the industry.
